“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our Attitude…

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” – Charles Swindoll

Becoming A Pro Takes A Good Attitude and Lots of Muscle Memory. As a pro baseball player for almost 16 years, people have asked me what it was like to get paid to play a “kid’s” game.  It took me 14 years of physical and mental preparation just to get a CHANCE to play in the minor leagues. After I signed a pro contract, it took me 6 ½ years in the minors just get a CHANCE to play ball in the Majors (MLB). In retrospect, getting to MLB was much easier than staying there. There are 4 areas that I had to master and that helped me succeed.

HAVING ENOUGH STRENGTH

I was not a very strong athlete in high school or college (where I was basically a walk-on (Florida Southern College).  I was not strong enough in the minor leagues since my opposition showed me how weak that I really was.  It was not until I was 28 years old that I found out that “the harder I worked, the luckier I got”!  In ’77, after my second season in Triple A ball with the Rangers, I was traded to the NY Yankees. The Yankees invited me to their MLB spring training camp in Ft. Lauderdale in 1977.  It was make or break time for me.  My strength training program during the winter between my ’76 and ’77 seasons got me to where I needed to be physically.  Even though I did not make the Yankees MLB team, I performed well enough for the Yankees Triple A franchise in Syracuse, NY and got the attention of the Chicago White Sox who I went on to play with for my first 4 seasons in MLB.

HAVING ENOUGH MUSCLE MEMORY

Getting the adequate strength that I needed to improve my physical skills (hitting, fielding, running, etc.) helped me build up a large reservoir of “muscle memory”.  Muscle memory occurs when your body has repeated a movement so many times that you no longer need to think consciously about how to make it happen. Your muscles simply know what they need to do.  Sadly, I learned more about how to encourage muscle memory when I got out of baseball.  Had I known then what I know now, I could have added certain nutrients to my diet that would have given my brain and muscles a better chance to perform better and recover more quickly from exercise.

HAVING ENOUGH CONFIDENCE

Being able to perform in front of 60,000 hostile Yankee fans in the Bronx, took tremendous concentration and confidence.  I was able to get to a point where I could basically eliminate crowd noise in stadiums.  It was never easy or comfortable to perform at the games highest level but the game would have eliminated me had I not been able to reach the concentration level that I did.  Again, it was not until I was out of baseball that I learned how the production of neurotransmitters in the brain can basically “help slow down the game” that allows the body to perform at its maximum capability.

HAVING ENOUGH STAYING POWER

When I finally made it to MLB I kicked everything up a notch because I did not want to blow my chance to have a good career.  I needed managers who had faith in me to write my name in the lineup enough but I still had to perform well enough to stay in MLB. Having a successful career as a MLB player simply meant that I had worked hard enough to acquire get enough muscle memory to play well enough over a 162 game season…year after year after year.   My positive attitude helped me get over the previous days failure.

GET LUCKY WITH LIFE PRIORITY!

Again, the harder that I worked, the luckier I got.  I feel that the use of the right nutrients in adequate amounts can help you get more out of your workouts and perhaps “luckier” in your desire to compete. I invite you to learn about the mental fitness products LIFT, LIFT CAPS, and MIND, and the physical fitness product, MUSCLE MEMORY, available through my company, Life Priority, at www.lifepriority.com.

If you are learning a new sport or physical activity, training for a competition, or just wanting to be more fit, trust in one who has been there, the more “muscle memory” that you have programmed into your brain will help you keep fit longer and could help you become a winner in the competitions that you participate.

Charles Swindoll

I believe that the success of your fitness goals and especially your interaction with friends and co-workers is, in large part, based on your attitude. Many of the problems in life become more difficult because of our “attitude” regarding how we react.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past…. we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string that we have, and that is our attitude.  A bad attitude can affect your health in a negative way.

There are many things that you can do to improve your attitude.   I do know that you can “encourage” your brain to feel better using certain nutrients. I personally love our Life Priority Lift and Mind formulas.

The world famous nutritional research scientists that I have worked with since 1991, Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw, state that “everything that happens in your brain, every memory, every thought, every emotion, every innovation, every “wow, that’s great!” is a result of the release of neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are not drugs; they are natural substances made by nerve cells in your brain that transmit messages from one nerve cell to another across the synapse that divides them. That’s why they are called neurotransmitters. They are made from the nutrients in your diet, but there is a very good chance that even if you have a good diet, you’re not getting the optimum amount of the raw materials that your brain can use to make neurotransmitters.

The three most important neurotransmitters have been known for a long time: acetylcholine, noradrenaline, and dopamine. Acetylcholine is involved in memory and organization, the way you order things in your mind, the way you retrieve them in an orderly manner. It’s also involved in focus and concentration.”

In 1991, I met Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw at a health conference and was introduced to several Designer Food formulas that they created.  I used their LIFT and MIND drink mix formulas and I felt the positive, energizing effects in my brain within 30 minutes.  I went from a customer to sharing these formulas with others for the last 22 years.  I use LIFT and MIND each day to help me have a better “attitude”.

You can encourage your brain to have a better attitude!  I invite you to visit www.lifepriority.com to read about the “attitude adjusting” products offered by Life Priority.

Beep. Beep. No one really looks forward to their alarm clock in the morning. It disrupts our wonderful sleep and relaxation, and catapults us into the day ahead. The courage and drive to leave the comforts of your bed can be difficult; in fact so challenging that people often set their alarm for as late as possible and then hit the snooze until the point of being late for work. The process of changing such a habit it tough, but developing the right attitude is the most important step to success.

With so many distractions and responsibilities in life, people always say, “There isn’t enough time in the day.” This may seem true at first glance but waking up 15 minutes early can have a wondrous effect on our daily lives. Imagine having time to work out, take a walk, meditate or just have time to yourself in a chaotic world. Think about how much better your mental state could be.

Charles Swindoll once said, “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” So, if people can find extra free time by waking up earlier, our mental health could vastly improve and thus lead to a happier, healthier and productive you. Of course, everyone values their sleep, so try going to sleep earlier and setting your alarm 15 minutes early, and make sure to turn on lights or place the alarm out of arms length so you’re more apt to actually get up.

In addition to healthier mind, the extra time could be used to better you physically and/or spiritually. You can use the time to walk, jog, run or pray. Almost everyone feels they need to lose a few pounds and waking up earlier could be all the motivation someone needs.

You may be asking how I can do this with the hectic holiday season in full swing, but you can wait until the New Year to start. Don’t make it a job. In other words, make it fun and even reward yourself for having a better sleeping habit. Also, some other good habits to acquire or build on for the New Year include eating more fruits and vegetables, eating smaller portion sizes and cooking at home and sitting down to dinner with the family on a more regular basis.

Like me, you may also need a little extra boost or kick in the rear to get going on these changes. Finding a workout buddy or a friend who pledges to complete the steps with you is extremely helpful and can ensure success without getting off track. In the case you can’t find someone to be your “healthy partner” you can invest in Lift™, which is an all-natural energy drink mix that can help the body increase energy from within. Lift™uses health supplements; bone restore; hair skin and nails; two per day capsules; c vitamin; vitamin c; vitamin c2; c2 vitamin; omega 3 supplement; health booster; vitamin k; vitamin d; vitamin d3; one per day vitamin; one per day multivitamin; glucosamine chondroitin; life extension magnesium; magnesium supplement; coq10 supplement; viatmin e supplement; glutathione cysteine; supplement nac; black seed oil; glucosamine; n acetyl cysteine; nacetyl l cysteine; fish oil; supplements fish oil; acetyl cysteine; omega 3 supplements; fish oil pill; omega 3 from fish oil; best fish oil supplements; n acetylcysteine cysteine; omega 3 supplements best; b complex; fish oil benefits; vitamins and supplements; black seed oil benefits; flush niacin; glucosamine chondroitin; vitamin life extension; supplements life extension; life extension multivitamin; life extension magnesium; magnesium caps; prostate ultra; fish oil vitamins; supplements vitamins; durk pearson; durk pearson and sandy shawthe natural stimulators of the body to help you stay more focused and alert through the day without the caffeine and sugar infusion. In addition, Lift™ can help the body realize when it’s full so you don’t keep eating or pick up fatty snacks later in the day.

Making changes can be scary, but make it your daily resolution to create a better attitude and more healthy habits. Choosing to make the small changes in your daily routine can create huge improvements to your mental and physical health in the long run.

Testimonial: Taking Life Priority products has changed my Life!

Testimonial from Harry H. Life Priority customer since 1998!

I’ve been a truck driver for almost 30 years and a Life Priority customer for over 15 years.

I use to spend the first part of my mornings feeling like I was running behind the curve, like I was trying to catch up with my day. Then I discovered Life Priority. Now, I start each morning with a combination drink that includes Lift, Mind and Muscle Memory.

Quite honestly, it has changed my life. I find that my mornings are now more focused and I am ready to take on the day. It’s amazing how great it feels to start the day feeling good, feeling focused, and feeling in charge. I make another drink in the afternoon to keep me feeling that way the rest of the day.

I also take several other Life Priority supplements. I take them with confidence knowing that Greg and Michelle have Life Priority Lift Powder Supplement
researched them and will only offer them if they are quality products.

When it comes to Life Priority supplements…I’m a BELIEVER!!!!

A Mother’s Love: The Driving Force Behind Life Priority

Testimonies by Paige, Storey, and Hailey Pryor, daughters of Life Priority owner, Michelle Pryor

“The month of May has grown sweeter to me, not because I’ve become a Mother myself, but because I’ve watched my Mother become a Grandmother.  I just wish she were with me everyday to remind my kids to take their vitamins.  I attribute my Mother for instilling the knowledge of supplementation and healthy living in me.  My parents’ passion for health and helping people makes me so proud and they talk about their customers as our own family.  Thank you for supporting Life Priority and our family.” – Paige Cook, Michelle’s 1st born

“My mom is one of the most selfless, passionate, nurturing, loving women on the planet – which is certainly why she is the rock of the Pryor family, and it goes without saying, the driving force behind Life Priority. I feel tremendously blessed that my parents created this company to provide the world’s finest health and wellness supplements. My Mom lives and breathes every single product, and is determined to share this incredible company with the world. Thank you for your commitment to your health, and supporting Life Priority over the few decades. There is so much heart and soul in this company, and we are proud you’re a part of our family!” – Storey Pryor, Favorite Daughter

“Most people who cross paths with Michelle Pryor (my mother) are quick to understand the raw and genuine nature of her spirit. I am so grateful to have been raised by a mother with unwavering moral and ethical beliefs. I cannot think of a truer inspiration to have been raised by. Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to adopt some of her most redeeming qualities. You will hear her say, “your health is your most valuable asset” – which I cannot agree with more. I am so thankful that her interest in health and vitamins trickled down into us (her daughters). She truly does care about the well being of others, including all our loyal and valuable customers.” – Hailey Pryor, the baby

A very important part of being happy — and healthy — is to maintain a positive attitude, no matter what your circumstances are.

New Year, New Attitude

A very important part of being happy — and healthy — is to maintain a positive attitude, no matter what your circumstances are. Remember Charles Swindoll, and his perception that attitude is a matter of choice.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.

If you could use a little help along the way, a Phenylalanine formulation might be just the thing to lift your spirits and support your positive attitude. Phenyalalanine may just be the Lift you need to cheer you up and support better mental health. It seems to improve mood in depressed patients. The brain is the most important master organ in your body, so exquisitely fine-tuned to perform innumerable tasks —among which is to make us feel happy.

Enter Phenylalanine. A natural approach is to use nutritional supplements, which many people prefer because they’re largely free of adverse side effects, and they’re less expensive, too. The amino acid phenylalanine has long been of interest because of its role in the production of dopamine and noradrenaline, two neurotransmitters that play key roles in the regulation of mood, especially with regard to our sense of well-being, i.e. our happiness. Significantly, deficiencies of these neurotransmitters in the brain are associated with depression. Many people feel it acts to help suppress stress eating and help to increase motivation and drive.

Lift  might help supply you with a boost of energy. Lift Caps are another convenient way to take your nutritional supplement that may support a positive mental attitude and a productive day.

Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid — it must be obtained from outside sources because our bodies cannot synthesize it in appreciable amounts. It’s one of the 20 common amino acids found in dietary proteins that we obtain from plants and animals. (Babies, take note: breast milk is particularly rich in phenylalanine.) I personally use the Lift formulation to start each and every day.

As a small business owner, I get asked all the time what my secret weapon is to get it all done. Psst… It’s Lift.

What is Phosphatidylserine?

As we age, the demands of life only seem to grow, and our bodies and minds begin to gradually decline which can make things difficult for us. The mental decline as we age can be especially frustrating, and may lead to other potential problems. Although aging and its side effects are inevitable, we can fight back by becoming healthier. The combination of valuable supplements and a smart and balanced diet might help us live longer and happier. One essential chemical compound for maintaining a healthier mind is phosphatidylserine.

Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid that aids in the function of our cell membranes – specifically, the brain. So just what does the cell membrane do? The cell membrane does a lot of things, but it helps move waste out of our cells, keeps the cell intact and moves essential nutrients into our various cells to keep us healthy.

phosphatidylserine

Phosphatidylserine is naturally produced in the body, but only in small amounts. To obtain the right amount, we need to include it in our diet by eating foods like muscle and organ meats, and white beans. We can also get it from soybeans and various other plant sources.

Of course, you should always consult a doctor as to ascertain the proper dosage and to what capacity it should be a part of your diet (not recommended for children, pregnant women and people with kidney or liver diseases).

The aging process isn’t always a cake walk, so it’s important to develop a healthy diet and lifestyle. Working out every day for a short time, eating right and adding supplements and foods with essentials nutrients are all vital to a healthy life.

Phosphatidylserine is one chemical compound that’s important for our mental stability and health, so make sure to research the benefits it could have on your life.

In the News: Women’s Dementia Worsens Faster Than Men’s

So says a headline in the July 22, 2015 The Wall Street Journal. According to the study (398 subjects who participated in the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative), women’s cognitive decline took place about twice as fast as men’s. The good news is that it is very likely, based on scientific studies showing that women need more choline than men do (Fischer, 2007), and that, as choline has been identified as a nutrient important to cognition (Poly, 2011) a deficiency of choline is one cause of this vulnerability to dementia in women. Not only does estrogen play an important role in the cholinergic nervous system (Fischer, 2007, Craig, 2010)—estrogen that declines rapidly following menopause—but it is known that in older people, choline is taken up less effectively into the brain (Cohen, 1995). In addition, women are much more susceptible to autoimmune diseases than men are and the cholinergic nervous system is a major antiinflammatory system (Tracey, 2007).

Add it all up and the evidence points to a need for additional choline in older women. The amount of choline recommended by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) for non-pregnant women, 425 mg a day, is (in our judgment) too low to supply adequate amounts of choline to older women when you consider the reduced ability to transport choline into the brain, the loss of estrogen, and also the variation (dietary composition (van Wijk, 2012), choline consumption, genetic and epigenetic differences in the ability to absorb choline from the diet, get it into the brain, and then convert it to phospatidylcholine via biochemical pathways) between individuals suggests that the amount that may be adequate for much of the population per the IOM recommendation may not be adequate for YOU.

In short, choline is a major nutrient for keeping your cognitive function in good condition as you get older. We ourselves take 2 grams a day of choline in the form of choline dihydrogen citrate.

Can you Revive your Memory from 1985?

The Kansas City Baseball Historical Society sponsored a 30th anniversary for members of the '85 Kansas City Royals World Series team. Members of 1985 Royals World Series Team “Revive ’85”

Recently, the Kansas City Baseball Historical Society sponsored a 30th anniversary reunion for members of the ’85 Kansas City Royals World Series championship team.  The event, held past August at the NKC Harrah’s Casino, drew close to 500 fans who were eager to help celebrate the most important milestone in the history of Kansas City baseball, a World Series Championship.

From ’55-’67, Kansas City had a MLB franchise, the Athletics (A’s).  In ’69, A’s owner, Charlie Finley, moved his franchise to Oakland, CA.   Kansas City was without a MLB team for the next 5 years.  In ’73, Ewing Kauffman brought MLB back to KC and named his new team, the Royals.  The Royals appeared in the MLB playoffs in ’76, ’77, ’78, ’80, ’81, and ’84.  Prior to winning their World Series championship in ’85, the closest that the Royals came to winning a crown was in the ’80 World Series when they were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies.

At the reunion, many old time Kansas City A’s and Royals fans were treated to many memorable stories by members of the ’85 team, Jim Sundberg, C, Charlie Liebrandt, P, Buddy Biancalana, SS, and Pat Sheridan, OF.  Also attending Royals Hall of Famers, Hal McCrae, Frank White, Dennis Leonard, and Bret Saberhagen.  Other players and/or wives attending were Danny Jackson, Mike Jones, Lynn Jones, Darryl Motley, Steve Farr, Greg Pryor, trainer, Mickey Cobb, Nancy Howser and Janie Quisenberry-Stone

One of the great treasures that many of us are blessed with is our memory.  Many people who witnessed the World Series in ’85 use their memory to describe events to those who were born after ’85 or were too young to remember. As people age, we sometimes chuckle that we are “losing” our memory.  It is not a laughing matter! Our memories can be enhanced through the use of certain essential nutrients!

Choline is an essential nutrient and it’s primary function is to aid in the health benefits of the brain relating to memory, focus and concentration. Choline is an important nutrient during the prenatal development of offspring and contributes heavily to the development of the brain. Choline assists in a wide range of functions including motor control and memory, a deficiency may be related to neurological disorders.

In “94, my wife, Michelle, and I formed our health and nutritional company, Life Priority. Coaching/Managing a Team…Is It For Everyone? by Greg Pryor

Coaching/Managing a Team…Is It For Everyone? What happens to MLB players when baseball season is over? A very important aspect of off season conditioning is the diet.

From age 7 to 37, I played baseball under the guidance of dozens of coaches and managers.  From age 7 to 22, I played as an amateur, and then, after I signed my first pro contract with the Washington Senators in 1971, I played 16 years as a professional.  I would like to offer some personal views on the subject of coaching and/or managing.

Prior to playing in high school and college, my teams were coached by volunteers.  My most vivid memories of “volunteer” coaches was how loudly they screamed at me and my teammates.  My college coach at Florida Southern College, Hal Smeltzly, had the most pleasant personality of all of my baseball coaches. He was a great motivator and I never remember him screaming.  As I look back though, the bad coaches simply help me appreciate the good ones.

As an example, when I became a professional, my first manager got frustrated with my poor performance during first game of a double-header.  As he was reading out the lineup for the second game to the team, he looked at me and said, “Pryor, you can take your uniform off and I don’t care what you do.”  I was crushed.  If I did not have the desire to improve and have that “no matter what” attitude, I would not have an ’85 KC Royals World Series ring!

Advice for Volunteer Coaches

In my opinion, baseball is the best team sport in the world.  Thanks to all volunteers and parents for helping young people learn how to play baseball.  Mostly, the game is learned between the lines during the games by players who desire to improve.  Players will get tested by the competition and then find areas that need improvement.  Players will remember your “nice” personality more than your “expertise”.  When I coached my girls in softball for 5 summers, my practices were organized so that most of my players were moving—doing something to improve.  During your practices, create drills that help all players stay as active as possible.  Ask parents not to yell at the umpires or coach from the stands.  Check out my tips on how to be a better ballplayer below.

Advice for Paid Coaches/Managers

The odds say that 99.9% of your players will not become a pro ballplayer.  You do have a 100% opportunity to help a young player improve as a high school or college player.  Being paid to coach does not equate to being a good coach.  Each player thinks differently. You need to know how they think and adjust accordingly. If you are worthy, you will know how to explain the better way to run, catch, hit and throw.  You will recognize which players want to get better and who are more teachable. Your coaching ability will be reflected by the improvement of your players.  Be cheery and positive. Please do not try to force improvement through constant guilt and negativity.

Whether age 7, 37, or 97, being healthy is one of the most valuable areas of your life.  Since 1994, my company, Life Priority, has offer potent, high-quality, time-tested, health and nutrition products.  One of our 19 products, One Per Meal Lifeguard, is a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral that was created by highly intelligent nutritional research scientists. It could be the MVP that can help keep your immune system in the “WIN” column.

Here are some of my favorite tips on how to play and enjoy the best game ever invented “BASEBALL”

  1. Baseball is a tough sport to master. Have fun learning how to do it.
  2. Strive to be teachable. Every MLB player was taught by other people.
  3. Ask for help. If you are struggling with catching, hitting or throwing, ask for help!
  1. You can always get better. Your competition is practicing somewhere.
  2. Don’t make a habit of making excuses because of umpires and coaches.
  3. If you have good practice habits, you will improve your chances to succeed.
  4. Treat your glove like it is your friend. Take care of it!
  5. The baseball “knows” if you are scared. Be ready!
  6. Do drills to improve your feet quickness to help make plays easier.
  7. Commend the performance of your teammate(s).
  8. Expect that every pitch will be hit to you! Want it to be hit to you!
  9. The ball will always find the guy who isn’t concentrating.
  10. Learn how to “get the seams” ASAP on ground balls before throwing.
  11. Throw “over the top” with your fingertips right over top of the long seams.
  12. Be aggressive when fielding ground balls. You will make more plays!
  13. If you bobble a ball, use your bare hand to pick it up–not your glove.
  14. Find ways to make your grip and wrists stronger.
  15. To get a better jump on ground balls, anticipate where the ball will be hit.
  16. Develop your own style of getting ready for pitches.
  17. Know where you are going to throw the ball before it is hit to you.
  18. Run everything out! Run everything out! Expect the unexpected!
  19. Look forward to hitting with runners on base.
  20. Don’t worry; you are going to get another hit no matter how bad you are going.
  21. Respect your teammates, coaches, and your parents.
  22. Be the “cheerleader” in the dugout. Nobody wants to play around a bad attitude.
  23. Hall of Famers, Ted Williams and Wade Boggs, almost always took one strike before hitting. It might help you.
  24. Change your hitting approach when you get 2 strikes. Be a great 2 strike hitter.
  25. The best pitch that you will see all day might be the next one.
  26. Don’t assume anything in baseball. Expect the unexpected!
  27. Don’t be a timid hitter. Swing hard!!
