Tips to Protect Your Immune System in the Fall

3 Tips to Protect Your Immune System in the Fall

Tips to Protect Your Immune System in the Fall

The human body is a complex organism which requires many parts and systems to function properly for us to keep going. The immune system is vital to our survival, but many people take for granted that it will perform its duties. In reality, maintaining a healthy immune system is very important, and everyone should develop habits to ensure its vitality.

Have a Healthy Diet

One obvious thing is to create a healthy diet. Your body needs the right nutrients and vitamins and in the right amounts. Fast food is a popular dinner or lunch decision because it’s so quick, but the food usually doesn’t have the right nutrients our bodies crave. A balanced diet comprised of fruits and vegetables is a good place to start, and eating healthy meats is also important. Reducing the intake of sugar can also help keep you healthy.

Supplement Your Diet

In addition to eating the right foods, you should also consider nutritional supplements to strengthen your diet. There is no way to obtain the proper amount of nutrients from your diet alone, so supplements can help you reach the optimal level. Vitamin C and Vitamin D take on an added importance this time of year with less sun and more things in the air to potentially make us sick.

One supplement that can really help you this fall and winter is Lift. Lift is an all-natural energy supplement which can keep you ready for the day ahead. In addition to boosting energy, Lift also helps boost your mood. Stress can wear on your body and make you more susceptible to sicknesses. With Lift, you can help your body stay healthy and active.

Another supplement that is important to a healthier diet is LifeGuard. LifeGuard is a daily multivitamin packed with 27 different nutrients designed to help keep you healthy. During the colder months, everyone can use LifeGuard to help combat different illnesses. Infusing your body with the right amount of nutrients and vitamins is vital to your health.

Wash Your Hands

Finally, and one of the more basic things you can do to stay healthy is to wash your hands. We touch so many surfaces on a daily basis which can house countless bacteria and the illnesses of others who have touched them. Make sure to frequently wash your hands thoroughly every day as an added benefit to your immune system.

Are you ready for cold and flu season

Are You Ready for Cold & Flu Season?

The best bet to avoiding downtime with the flu is to build up your health and immunity year round, not just during flu season.Cold and flu season is here. While knowledge of specific public health activities such as washing your hands frequently, wearing masks and staying at least 6 feet apart help to decrease the transmission and effect of illnesses, there are also ways you can naturally boost your immune system to help combat sickness and stay ahead of the game. Nutritional interventions to support optimal immune system function are frequently overlooked in public health talks about immunity and illness. This is surprising, given that the role of diet in immune function has long been recognized.

Supplements, such as vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E, and folate; trace minerals, such as zinc, iron, selenium, magnesium, and copper; and omega-3 fatty acids all play crucial and complementary roles in boosting both the innate and adaptive immune systems, according to a wealth of mechanistic and clinical data. Micronutrients’ molecular functions in immune function optimization have lately been well-described. The majority of micronutrients have two or more effects on immunological function. In terms of innate immunity, the vitamins and minerals listed above work together to support physical barrier development and maintenance, antimicrobial protein production and activity, innate cell growth, differentiation and motility, phagocytic and killing activities such as oxidative burst, and inflammation promotion and recovery.

Micronutrient deficiencies have a detrimental impact on immune function and can reduce infection resistance. With the exception of vitamin E and magnesium, each of these micronutrients has been given health claims in the European Union for their role in immune system function. Other nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, contribute to a healthy immune system by assisting in the resolution of the inflammatory response.

As previously said, inflammation is an important part of the immune response. The influx of fluid, immune cells, and other mediators that serve to remove the infection is generated by a range of pro-inflammatory mediators released by several distinct types of cells. Due to the activation of certain negative-feedback mechanisms, inflammation usually disappears swiftly towards the end of the immune response.

As a result, a set of specific nutritional guidelines is required. First, supplementing with micro-nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids is a safe, effective, and low-cost strategy to help fill nutritional deficiencies and maintain optimum immune function, lowering the risk of infection and its effects. Expert authorities, such as the IOM in the United States, have suggested top safety limits for intakes. In addition to eating a well-balanced diet, taking a multivitamin and mineral supplement that meets the basic micro-nutrient needs (RDA) for vitamins and minerals is recommended.

Second, we propose supplementing with vitamins C and D in excess of the RDA. As previously stated, recent studies have found that vitamin C supplementation reduces the likelihood and severity of upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as the common cold and pneumonia, as well as illness severity and risk of death in older patients. A daily intake of at least 200 mg/day for healthy persons is recommended based on this evidence. This number is higher than the US RDAs for female and male adults, which are 75 and 90 mg per day, respectively. It should be noted that vitamin C requirements vary depending on one’s health status, with 1–2 g/day being indicated to restore normal blood levels in sick people starting at the first sign of illness. The tolerated upper limit (TUL) for adults in the United States is 2 g/day and for children aged 1–3 years is 400 mg/day. Vitamin D supplementation lowers the incidence of respiratory tract infections in both children and adults, according to other studies. Daily or weekly vitamin D dosages were found to have protective effects, whereas less frequent bolus doses did not. It is suggested that you consume 2000 IU (50 g) per day. This is higher than the US RDA of 400–800 IU depending on age, but lower than the TUL of 2500–4000 IU for individuals over 1 year old.

The omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are a third suggestion. The formation of anti-inflammatory metabolites of these fatty acids, notably in the respiratory system, is aided by proper consumption in the resolution of inflammation. According to global, regional, and national expert guidelines, a daily dose of 250 mg EPA + DHA is suggested.

With the present situation around the world, it is important that we have knowledge and information available so we can make our own informed decisions that is best for our overall health. Utilizing these supplements for additional safe and cost-effective ways to support our bodies promotes optimal immune function to not only control the impact of a possible infection, but to help limit the spread of more virulent strains of viruses.

Spring into Shape & Boost Your Immune System

Before you put on your favorite workout clothes, do your stretches, and head out for a run, consider what you can do to make your health a priority by strengthening your immune system and focusing on supplements to help you get in shape.

Here are three specific areas where we can help you: Joint Health, Immune Health, and Mental Health.

Joint Health

Are you one of the 27 million otherwise healthy individuals in our nation that suffer from painfully worn out, stiff achy joints? Research indicates that 43% of all adults over the age of 45 struggle with noticeable joint discomfort in their hands, knees, hips and/or spine. Statistics confirm that by age 65 nearly 80% of the population will have experienced substantially compromised joint structure — a condition that will only worsen with time, unless it is addressed proactively.

Joint deterioration is a serious matter, and Life Priority is proud to offer quality supplements like Joint Decision™ and Total Joint Complex™ for your joint health to help keep you active.

Small Steps to Big Changes

Take the Stairs: Besides the extra calories you’ll burn by taking the stairs, you’ll also strengthen muscle and improve cardiovascular health. So make an intentional decision to take the stairs instead of opting for the elevator or escalator.

Park Further From Your Destination: Again, an easy way to burn some additional calories. Not only that, but how many times have you circled around the parking lot, looking for that sweet spot close to the entrance. Just hoof it – save time and get moving.

Make the Most of Your Lunch Break: Instead of sitting in front of your computer or scrolling social media during your lunch break, go for a short walk. Just like parking further from your destination, it doesn’t take much to make a difference. Adding in a 20 minute walk each day, paired with other small changes can add up to big changes.

Commercial Breaks: Be honest. You don’t have time to fit in exercise, but you have plenty of time to watch television, right? Use those commercial breaks to fit in some jumping jacks, crunches, squats and push-ups.

B12 is responsible for energy production because it turns carbohydrates & other fats into energy your body can use throughout the day.

Short-term memory, and critical thinking problems?

Today’s fast-paced world demands people be mentally capable of multitasking and their Simple Tips on How to Cope with Stress. If you want to reduce stress, understand these three common problems and situations that create it.brains functioning at a high level, but this isn’t always the case. Exhaustion, fatigue, stress, and forgetting everyday chores are common, and there may be a good explanation for all this. Some doctors have noted for cases of vitamin B12 deficiencies in people which can cause the symptoms above.

Vitamin B12 is responsible for energy production because it turns carbohydrates and other fats into energy your body can use throughout the day. In addition, vitamin B12 helps with the repair of cells and their growth. Therefore, B12 can help your immune system function properly, while also helping regulate mood and sleep patterns. Even though all these are important for our bodies to function properly, some recent research suggests B12’s major contribution is protecting our brain from wearing down at faster rates.

As we get older, it is natural for our cognitive abilities to decline and challenge our routines. Studies have shown elderly people with low levels of B12 are more susceptible to concentration, short-term memory, and critical thinking problems. This may scare some of you, but we can do something to help combat the natural aging process. We can start taking control of our health and begin by eating healthier foods and beverages. Food and drink alone cannot provide the correct amount of nutrients and vitamins we need to stay healthy and function at maximum capacity, so it becomes necessary to invest in supplements to fill in the missing gaps in our diets.

Our brains drive the car that is our body, so we must take care of it and provide as much support as possible for the brain to work properly. If you can increase the amount of B12 in your system, you can start seeing noticeable, positive changes in your mental faculties. Your memory, thinking, and energy can all improve. Also, your sleep patterns can improve (resulting in a more restful night’s sleep), you can have fewer mood swings, and your immune system can be stronger than ever. Who would have thought ingesting more B12 MIND - nutrient drink mix containing choline to promote focus and concentration.could potentially help with so many important aspects of our lives.

To see if our high quality supplements with vitamin B12 product is right for you, check out Mind, Lift, and Lift Caps on our website, lifepriority.com, and start making your health a bigger life priority today.
