Overview

Use this article as a practical way to think through your next wellness step. The goal is not a complicated routine; it is a clearer one you can return to consistently.

The Kansas City Baseball Historical Society sponsored a 30th anniversary for members of the '85 Kansas City Royals World Series team. Members of 1985 Royals World Series Team "Revive '85"

Recently, the Kansas City Baseball Historical Society sponsored a 30th anniversary reunion for members of the '85 Kansas City Royals World Series championship team.  The event, held past August at the NKC Harrah’s Casino, drew close to 500 fans who were eager to help celebrate the most important milestone in the history of Kansas City baseball, a World Series Championship.

From '55-'67, Kansas City had a MLB franchise, the Athletics (A's).  In '69, A's owner, Charlie Finley, moved his franchise to Oakland, CA.   Kansas City was without a MLB team for the next 5 years.  In '73, Ewing Kauffman brought MLB back to KC and named his new team, the Royals.  The Royals appeared in the MLB playoffs in '76, '77, '78, '80, '81, and '84.  Prior to winning their World Series championship in '85, the closest that the Royals came to winning a crown was in the '80 World Series when they were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies.

At the reunion, many old time Kansas City A's and Royals fans were treated to many memorable stories by members of the '85 team, Jim Sundberg, C, Charlie Liebrandt, P, Buddy Biancalana, SS, and Pat Sheridan, OF.  Also attending Royals Hall of Famers, Hal McCrae, Frank White, Dennis Leonard, and Bret Saberhagen.  Other players and/or wives attending were Danny Jackson, Mike Jones, Lynn Jones, Darryl Motley, Steve Farr, Greg Pryor, trainer, Mickey Cobb, Nancy Howser and Janie Quisenberry-Stone

One of the great treasures that many of us are blessed with is our memory.  Many people who witnessed the World Series in '85 use their memory to describe events to those who were born after '85 or were too young to remember. As people age, we sometimes chuckle that we are "losing" our memory.  It is not a laughing matter! Our memories can be enhanced through the use of certain essential nutrients!

Useful reset points

Notice

Start with the pattern you can actually see

Energy, sleep, digestion, mood, movement, and recovery all leave clues. Paying attention to the pattern makes the next step more useful.

Simplify

A smaller routine is easier to keep

Choose one or two habits that fit your real week. Food quality, hydration, movement, sleep, and stress recovery usually matter before complexity.

Support

Match supplements to a specific priority

A focused supplement routine works best when it supports a clear goal and sits alongside the basics you already repeat.
